Prince Thangkhiew, pioneer of the Lynti Khasi School worked on ‘Educating children of shepherd families’ in Umsawwar village in East Khasi hills of Meghalaya. This supported and helped Prince to sustain and deepened his innovative Lynti Khasi program by setting up a school for the children of this community who were left out of the existing school system.
60 students were enrolled in the Lynti Khasi School. He appointed 2 teachers. In the process and expansion of the school building, provision of furniture, teaching aids etc. were provided by FST. He instituted interesting innovative learning activities and programs including prayer days, rallies, storytelling sessions and experience sharing events.
