Conventional agriculture is unable to provide good returns and land holding are small in size. In such circumstances mushroom cultivation could be an important source for generating surplus or a sustainable source of income for women who have small land holding and low income. Since it involves low investments, rural women can easily take up this activity along with their regular household work.
