Job Title: Programme Lead

Location: Guwahati

Reports to: Executive Director

Supervises: Programme Officers

Purpose:

An experienced professional is sought to lead the programs of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initiate environment analysis of issues and develop an implementable strategy and programme
  • Take lead in designing and strengthening system of the programme management of the organization.
  • Take lead in developing programmes within the broad framework of FST.
  • Ensure that all programmes conform to the vision, mission of the organization.
  • Take lead in mapping of different stakeholders and engages with them to highlights issues of the communities and region.
  • Identify training needs and ensure that opportunities are made available for staff to acquire and build requisite skills.
  • Ensure implementation and supervision of monitoring system and facilitate use of information at all levels.
  • Adhere to all reporting systems and procedures as per schedule & deadline.
  • Mentor the programme team to bring effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Maintain productive and synergistic relationships with the partner agencies in project implementation.
  • Must be willing to travel to remote locations

Qualification and Experience

  • Post-graduate in social science, development management or relevant field.
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in leading and managing field operations.
  • Person should be familiar with the geographies of Northeast, its cultures and issues.
  • Must have perspective on the changing aid sector and ecosystem in the country
  • Person should have good perspective on gender.
  • Person having experience on climate issues, environment protection, livelihood, unorganized sector etc. will be given preference.

Skills

  • Leadership ability, including the capacity to set and manage accountability of self and others.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing in English, Hindi, Assamese and to make effective presentations to the communication team. Speaking and writing skills of other regional language is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in MS-Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively to interior areas.
  • Have understanding of result based management and proposal development.
  • Capacity to work with minimal supervision
