Sharing the Harvest of Knowledge

Najira is a farmer from Kakching village, Manipur. From the beginning of the project, she took part in every training, including sessions on rice husk charcoal, bokashi, natural pesticides, plant juice, and fruit juice. She was eager to learn new ways of farming and put them into practice.

Before attending these trainings, Najira had to look for people in the village who sold vegetables. Selling her own produce was not easy, and she depended on others to access vegetables. Instead of staying with the same approach, she kept learning and looked for better ways to grow her crops.

With support from our organisation, Najira received practical training and hands-on experience in natural farming techniques, including bokashi, natural pesticides, plant juice, and fruit juice. She applied these methods in her own field and continued improving her farming practices.

Today, people from her village come directly to her to buy vegetables. By using the techniques she learned, Najira has built trust in the quality of her produce. She is also encouraging others by sharing her experience and hopes to help more women farmers learn natural farming in the future.

As Najira says:

“Land size does not matter. What matters is farming without chemicals. When women farmers from other villages learned about our organic farming practices, they wanted to know about the training too. In the future, I want to conduct training for fellow women farmers in other villages.”
